**The Role**
The Skills Adviser Meat Works is responsible for organising and delivering practical, job‑ready training to prepare Solomon Islands workers for employment in Australia’s Meat Works sector under the PALM scheme.
This role also contributes to skills strengthening activities within the Meat Works industry. This involves engaging with local industry representatives, employers, and stakeholders to ensure training content remains relevant and aligned with real workplace requirements, both in Solomon Islands and overseas.
The position may additionally support broader training initiatives related to work readiness, foundational skills, and soft skills to improve overall employment outcomes.
**Essential Experience**
· Minimum 3–5 years’ experience working in the Meat Works/meat processing industry in Australia.
· Experience in mentoring, coaching, or training co‑workers, new starters, or work teams in a practical, on‑the‑job setting.
· High-level understanding of workplace expectations, safety requirements, productivity standards, and daily operations within the Australian Meat Works environment.
· Ability to communicate clearly with adult learners, including those with limited English or education backgrounds.
· Experience working with diverse groups, including youth, women, and people with disabilities.
· Proficient computer skills including the ability to create and edit training materials, complete reports, and use email confidently.
· Understanding of and commitment to Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI), Child Protection, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment (PSEAH), prevention of human trafficking, environmental protection, anti-corruption and other DFAT safeguarding policies.

**Educational Background**
· Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or willingness to obtain this qualification.
**Desirable Requirements**
· Relevant degrees qualifications
· Industry related short courses, tickets, or licenses (e.g., knife handling, food safety, HACCP, WHS training, or site‑based induction certificates).
· Experience delivering or assisting with work readiness, soft skills, or induction training various Pacific Australia Skills locations.
