AFH delivers high-impact humanitarian and development programmes in sectors including education, livelihoods, protection, and health. In Jordan, AFH supports vulnerable Syrian and Palestinian refugees as well as Jordanian host communities through sustainable and locally led initiatives.
The Media Officer will support managing and documenting all media and communication activities of the project, highlighting the organization’s impact through high-quality digital and visual content.
**General Duties/Responsibilities:**
Content Creation & Storytelling
- Develop high-quality multimedia content (photos, videos, articles, case studies, success stories).
- Capture field activities, humanitarian interventions, and beneficiary stories.
- Ensure content reflects dignity, protection, and ethical storytelling standards.
Social Media Management
- Plan and execute monthly content calendars aligned with campaigns
- Ensure all materials comply with AFH branding guidelines.
- Design and oversee production of visibility materials (banners, roll-ups, brochures).
- Support campaign branding (events, humanitarian campaigns, donor visits).
- Lead media coverage for key campaigns.
**Abilities**:
- Creative Storytelling: Ability to produce engaging, ethical multimedia content that highlights humanitarian impact.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in photography, videography, and editing tools to deliver high-quality outputs.
- Communication: Strong planning and execution of media strategies and social media content.
- Language & Culture: Fluent Arabic and strong English with culturally sensitive messaging.
- Adaptability: Able to work in field conditions, emergencies, and under tight deadlines.
- Collaboration: Works effectively with teams and stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy, quality, and compliance with guidelines.
**Technical Skills & Knowledge**:
- Strong photography, videography, and editing skills using tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Photoshop, and Canva
- Content creation and storytelling with a focus on ethical humanitarian communication
- Social media planning and management across platforms like Facebook and Instagram
- Knowledge of branding, media strategies, and NGO communication standards

- Creative storytelling and strong communication skills
- Teamwork and collaboration with diverse stakeholders
- Adaptability in field and emergency settings
- Good time management and attention to detail
- Problem-solving, initiative, and accountability
- Cultural sensitivity and empathy when working with vulnerable communities
**Qualifications and Education Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s degree in media, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in media, communications, or humanitarian sector (preferred).
- Strong photography and videography skills.
- Experience with editing tools (Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, Canva, etc.).
- Excellent English and Arabic writing skills.
**General Work Experience**:
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant Media experience
- Experience in NGO Media preferred
**Language Requirements**:
- Fluency in Arabic is required.
- Proficiency in English is highly desirable.
